Manus Bio is a next-generation industrial biotechnology company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts that produces plant-based ingredients.  We use a variety of patented and proprietary technologies to engineer microbes for the production of specialty chemicals, such as food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.  We are seeking a highly motivated intermediate level I&C Technician  to assist with recommissioning, startup, and maintenance activities in the area of Instrumentation and Controls. The ideal candidate will be experienced in calibration, installation, and maintenance of various process instruments and have familiarity  with microprocessor based Automation systems and other related equipment. This hands-on position requires a desire and ability to work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as the demonstration of a high degree of flexibility, creativity, and initiative applied to the various duties and aspects of the position. This person will be expected to play an integral part of Manus Bio’s team located in Augusta, GA.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain all forms of Process Instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) system hardware.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to maintain systems and instrumentation in good working order or for installation of new equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot conventional and variable speed motor control equipment.
  • Develop new or update existing drawings and documents in support of projects or field changes.
  • Use test equipment to maintain electrical devices, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Maintain standards and test equipment in good working order and manage re-certification.
  • Organize and manage backup files or media for electronic or microprocessor based instrumentation or automation equipment.
  • Knowledge of hazards and necessary safety precautions surrounding electrical equipment.
  • Provide training to junior or new employees through ongoing formal/informal knowledge transfer to aid in their career growth and support of the Augusta facility.
  • Provide tier-1 call support for Automation related problems.
  • Develop new or modify existing Automation related procedures.


 Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with knowledge of Math and Science and 5 years or more experience in a manufacturing environment in an Automation related technical role.
  • Possess strong communication (written & spoken) and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically able to handle tools, lift objects and equipment (
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders when required.
  • Execute the job function with minimal oversite.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Using computers to execute job functions including various forms of correspondence, configuration of Automation equipment, and interacting with different application software.


 Preferred Qualifications:

 Completion of an AS degree from an accredited technical school.

  • Documented ISA or other training program certification(s).
  • Expertise with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware.
  • Experience with electronic calibration databases and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Use of Microsoft Office Products such as Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes.
  • Arc-Flash certification.
