Manus Bio is a next-generation industrial biotechnology company head quarted in Cambridge, Massachusetts that produces plant-based ingredients.  We use a variety of patented and proprietary technologies to engineer microbes for the production of specialty chemicals, such as food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.  We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Manager of Facility and Engineering to manages cross-functional team resources throughout the project life cycle and is accountable for meeting the agreed upon project scope, schedule, budget and quality. Collaborate with internal resources, manages external partners to properly staff their project and manage project risk to ultimately provide an end result that performs at the expected quality level. In addition, the Sr. Manager will support the development and improvement of project management systems, engineering document control system and continuous facility operation improvement using industry best practices. This person will be expected to play an integral part of Manus Bio’s manufacturing and process development team located in Augusta, GA.

  • Lead project teams in partnership with engineering firm, equipment suppliers, subcontractors to prepare project scope, design drawings, project schedule and budget on capital projects to support new product launch.
  • Maintain capital expenditure list and on-going capital planning
  • Lead and provide tactical guidance for the planning and execution of new product projects from the conceptual phase through closure.
  • Manage field contractors to achieve the agreed upon project goal, including the project schedule and budget, as well as the quality (e.g., scope and performance).
  • Monitor and confirm organizational adherence to policies, procedures, regulations and standard work.
  • Drive and support implementation of major cost savings and continuous improvement projects.
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization using all forms of communication.
  • Drive effective and timely problem solving through the use of team resources and Lean/Quality tools.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and achieving any assigned budgetary goals.
  • Create and deliver presentations to all levels of the organization regarding project schedule, cost, risks and quality (scope and performance).
  • Work closely with quality to improve and update engineering document manage system and internal engineering standard based on the best industry practice.
  • Cultivate a positive team spirit and a healthy team dynamic. Ensures that the team develops and maintains a common mission and vision of success throughout the project life cycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with 10 or more years of industrial experience in capital project management, facility and engineering design, and manufacturing plant operation.
  • Product development and sustaining engineering knowledge.
  • Demonstrated success in leading project teams and managing projects from initiation through completion.
  • Knowledge of project management software such as MS Project.
