Warehouse Technician

Manus Bio is a next-generation industrial biotechnology company headquartered in
Cambridge, Massachusetts that produces plant-based ingredients.  We use a variety of
patented and proprietary technologies to engineer microbes for the production of specialty
chemicals, such as food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. 
We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Technician who will be responsible for all
warehouse activities including: shipping, receiving, material movement, plant support, record
keeping, inventory management, sampling and packaging Finished Goods. Duties performed
require knowledge of and an ability to apply warehouse procedures, be familiar with GMP and
HACCP requirements.
This hands-on position requires a desire and ability to work as an integral part of a
multidisciplinary team, as well as the demonstration of a high degree of flexibility, creativity,
and initiative applied to the various duties and aspects of the position.

- Receives, verifies and documents incoming goods.
- Assigns internal Lot Number to incoming goods as outlined in procedure.
- Moves materials to appropriate storage location(s) and records required documentation
and/or enters into ERP system.
- Inspects all inbound/outbound trailers to ensure equipment meets company
requirements for shipping food ingredients. Escalates any concerns for appropriate
follow-up. Maintains accurate records.
- Reviews shipping documents and physically pulls material from storage to prepare
individual outbound shipments. Ensures accuracy of shipment order and required
documentation. Records individual containers shipped on each order for traceability.
- Apply special secondary labeling as required. Stretch wrap and/or secure shipment as
required. Ensure each shipment is checked prior to releasing to carrier. Seal all full
truckload and/or sea containers and record seal number on shipping documents.
- Picks up production finished goods from plants as required and documents quantity, lot
numbers and storage location when material enters the warehouse.
- Pulls and moves materials to production as required or requested. Ensures movement
sheet is filled out accurately with all required information.                                                                                                                                                                  - Verify all materials pulled are QA released prior to moving to production.                                                                                                                              Ensure material is moved on FIFO basis. Scan completed movement sheet to warehouse scan folder.
- Supports accurate inventory management by accurately recording product movements
and conducting periodic cycle counts.
- Segregates any non-conforming / rework or damaged material from all good material.
- Prints product labels as required.
- Initiates, investigates, and documents warehouse/shipping related issues using the CAR
- Inspects and maintains fork trucks as required.
- Follows all procedures regarding safety, quality and environmental requirements.
- Maintains superior housekeeping and GMP practices; sweeps and cleans warehouse as
needed and/or scheduled.
- Supports Manus Bio business needs for special initiatives as required.
- Be familiar with GMP and HACCP requirements.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse/shipping experience (Minimum 5 years preferred)
- Experience with SAP & Microsoft Windows applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills + Attention to detail.
- Must be medically fit to climb stairs and ladders, to lift 45 lbs and to wear plant safety
equipment when required in the plant, including respirators. The physical demands are
in excess of sedentary work, due to inspection of materials.
- Must be able to work with dusk mask and/or half mask
- Must have forklift experience – minimum of 3 years operating fork truck.
- Must have the ability to work overtime or on a flexible time schedule.
- Must be self-motivated and able to implement continuous improvement programs and
work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to function responsibly as part of a team.
- Experience in loading trailers to minimize load distribution issues; securing product to
minimize damages
