QC Microbiologist

Manus Bio is a next-generation industrial biotechnology company that uses advanced fermentation technology to produce plant-based ingredients.  We use a variety of patented and proprietary technologies for engineering microbes for the production of specialty chemicals, such as food ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.  We are seeking a motivated individual for a QC Microbiologist position to be based in our manufacturing facility in Augusta, GA. This person will be expected to support the manufacturing as an integral part of Manus Bio’s team.


  • Leads and supports the development, validation, and implementation of methods used for testing samples of raw materials, products in process, finished products, water, environmental monitoring, and other samples provided by various departments to help ensure quality in the manufacturing process
  • Supports the manufacturing team with preparation of seed cultures and microbiological testing (plating, staining, streaking, etc.)
  • Writes, reviews, and revises SOP’s as required
  • Assists in training and provides expertise to coworkers as required
  • Assists with the coordination of sample handling and testing with other departments as required

 Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry or another related science
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in GMP manufacturing, operations, or pilot lab/scale-up operations
  • Great sterile/aseptic techniques
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to grow
